AIT houses three strategic research institutes - Materials, Bioscience, and Software - along with two technology gateways (APT and COMAND) which drive market-informed research in collaboration with industry partners. The Midlands Innovation and Research Centre (MIRC), the institute's business incubator, also provides incubation facilities and business development support for knowledge-based start-ups.
The Bioscience Research Institute (BRI) serves and facilitates research across the Faculty of Science and Health, in the inter-related domains of agri-food, the environment, pharma/biopharma with biotechnology and health.
The SHE Research Group will maintain the values of AIT in the operation of the group, in all research activity, and all interactions, to ensure that each are characterised by excellence, transparency and accountability, partnership, inclusion and professionalism.
