Despite the growth of Women’s Sport Internationally, and of research into Women’s Sport, there still remains a large Gender Data Gap regarding Health and Performance with most information taken from male based research and applied to females. Sex specific experiences exist within sport such as the influence of reproductive hormones and other physiological aspects that require understanding of impact to create a female training environment that helps athletes reach their potential. With this in mind the aim of this project is to gain greater understanding of the Female Athletes experience in Gaelic Games relating to health literacy and impact on performance, before developing and evaluating a Female Athlete education program.
