Dr Kris Beattie is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Sport and Health Science at AIT. Kris has a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science from Ulster University, an MSc in Sports Physiology from Liverpool John Moore’s University, and a PhD from the University of Limerick where his research focused predominantly on the physiological adaptations of strength training in endurance athletes. A UKSCA accredited S&C coach since 2010, Kris has coached within Rugby Union, Athletics and Rowing. His research interests include the physiology of strength, speed and endurance training and athlete assessment.
